What Is Rush?

Rush — also known as “recruitment” — is a year-round membership process all social fraternities and sororities practice, which includes a series of social events and gatherings, allowing prospective and current members to get to know each other. Rush is what sustains and shapes our fraternity, because the type of men we bring into our chapter defines our future and character. Each member represents our “face” and personality on campus and nationally to our peers and alumni.

The “Greek” program at FSU is governed by the Florida State University Interfraternity Council (IFC) and oversees all greek events, including recruitment. Each fall and spring, a Formal IFC Rush Week is held, providing an opportunity for us to meet students interested in Greek Life and Phi Sig. Rushing can be done alone, with a friend or a group of people — the choice is yours. The atmosphere is casual, and you will find that the members of our chapter are as eager to meet you as you are to meet us. Rush culminates in a formal invitation during Rush Week, when Greek houses offer “bids” to the students they believe are the best fit for membership.

When Is Rush?
